Oncology

The Orthopaedic Oncology team focuses on patients with tumors of the bones and soft tissues. These tumors can involve the pelvis, upper extremities and lower extremities and can be benign or malignant.

What We Do

 Education

Residents work alongside the two faculty orthopaedic oncologists, caring for people as part of a multidisciplinary group at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. All residents participate in an annual course on bone and soft tissue pathology.

We also collaborate with the University of Chicago to support a Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship. Visit their fellowship site for more information.

 Research

Our faculty are actively involved in ongoing research efforts. Visit our department's Research section for more information.

 Patient Care

Our faculty members are a part of a multidisciplinary team of experts composed of surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, radiologists and pathologists. The aspects of care incorporate the whole spectrum from radiographic interpretation, biopsy analysis, tumor resection, pathologic fracture stabilization/fixation and limb-salvage reconstruction.

Visit our department's Patient Care page for more information.
